2020 Toyota Tacoma release date
Toyota is kicking off the start of the Chicago Auto Show in style with the debut of the 2020 Tacoma. The new midsize pickup truck receives a major update for 2020 with a full array of new tech. While Toyota hasn’t announced an official release date yet, we’re betting on summer sale date. We’ll update with more details on that once it’s announced. In the meantime, here’s all the shiny new tech you can expect to see on the new Tacoma.
What are the 2020 Toyota Tacoma changes?
For starters, the Tacoma receives an all-new infotainment system that is available with a 7- or 8-inch touchscreen display. The new technology is also now standard with Android Auto, Apple CarPlay and Amazon Alexa compatibility.

All 2020 Tacoma models are also now standard with Toyota Safety Sense-P with forward collision warning, automatic braking, lane departure warning, automatic high beams and adaptive cruise control. In addition, select trims receive a new Multi Terrain Monitor and a surround-view camera system.
On the outside, the 2020 Toyota Tacoma receives a new grille, updated wheel designs, redesigned taillight housings and new seat fabrics for the SR5. There are also special exterior details for the TRD Sport, including chrome taillight inserts, LED fog lamps and a new LED bed lamp.

Engine options remain the same for 2020 and include a 159-hp, 2.7-liter naturally aspirated four-cylinder and a 278-hp, 3.5-liter V6. No matter which 2020 Toyota Tacoma you choose, every model is standard with a tow kit with a hitch, a power steering cooler, a 130-amp alternator and an engine oil cooler.
