2021 Toyota RAV4 Prime Plug-in Hybrid release date
Toyota announced this week that a new 2021 RAV4 Prime Plug-in Hybrid model is in the works. This will be the first plug-in hybrid RAV4 in the brand’s history and is expected to be powered by a 2.5-liter engine and two electric motors for a total output of 302 horsepower.
It’s the SUV’s powerful set up under the hood that is expected to give the new RAV4 Prime Plug-in Hybrid the capability to drive from zero-to-60-mph in 5.8-seconds and up to 39 miles of electric-only driving charge. Best of all, the 2021 Toyota RAV4 Prime Plug-in Hybrid is set for a summer 2020 release date.
Will the 2021 Toyota RAV4 Prime be all-wheel drive?
Yes! The new model will be standard with all-wheel drive. This is thanks to the rear-mounted electric motor.
What features will the 2021 Toyota RAV4 Prime have?
Standard equipment will include Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and Amazon Alexa. The plug-in hybrid will also be available with an all-new 9-inch multimedia display, steering wheel-mounted paddle shifters and a Head-Up Display.
What colors will the 2021 Toyota RAV4 Prime come in?
We expect the new model to be available with most of the 2020 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid’s color choices. One distinction is the new Supersonic Red color that when paired with the black roof option, gives the RAV4 Prime a dramatic, sporty look. In contrast, the 2020 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid’s only red color option is Ruby Flare Pearl, which is not available with a black roof. Another key distinction between the 2020 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid and the RAV4 Prime Plug-in Hybrid is the later has new, unique vertical LED accent lights.
