Summertime is here and the season of weekend road trips has arrived. There is nothing quite like getting in the car on a Saturday morning and driving to a nearby city for some adventures. Whether that’s tourist attractions, camping or hiking, the possibilities are endless. If you’re looking for some of the best weekend trip destinations near Green Bay, you’re in luck. Here we have focused on cities you can reach in under 2 hours (in most cases in about 1 hour and 30 minutes.)
Road trips 2 hours from Green Bay
- Take a trip to Fond du Lac to visit the legendary Kelley’s Country Creamery. While you’re there, check out the Children’s Museum of Fond du Lac, Historic Galloway House and Village and Lakeside Park. You could also explore any of Fond du Lac’s beautiful parks, including the Mascoutin Valley State Park Trail or the Wild Goose State Trail.
- Visit Sheboygan’s many beautiful historic buildings, including the Bookworm Gardens, the John Michael Kohler Arts Center/Design Center or Sheboygan Railroad Museum. Or, take a tour of the 3 Sheeps Brewing Company or the Blind Horse Winery. The area also has a number of beautiful golf courses and state parks, including Indian Mounds Park and the Ellwood H. May Environment Park.
- You could also visit the Stevens Point area and take a tour of the Ruby Coffee Roasters factory, the Stevens Point Brewery or the Central Waters Brewing Co. Or, get some sweet treats at Belt’s Soft Serve and then walk the Ice Age Trail or the Sculpture Park.
- For the perfect Saturday morning adventure, head over to downtown Oshkosh for the farmers market from 8-12:30 a.m., rain or shine. Enjoy fresh egg rolls and other delicious items at the market, then head to Rhapsodies’ Custard or Leon’s Frozen Custard for dessert. Then, be sure to check out the free zoo in Menomonee Park, explore the Wiowash Trail, shop the outlet mall or visit any of the beautiful museums in the area.
