Introducing the all-new Toyota Avalon! It made its world debut on Monday at the Detroit Auto Show and showcased a wide variety of updates for the 2019 model year. What exactly is new on the Avalon and what can you expect from the new model? Not only is the new Avalon larger, but it receives refreshed interior styling and a generous array of high-tech features. Toyota has also tweaked the Avalon’s engine and suspension for a more fuel-efficient, dynamic driving experience.
In fact, the new model receives a variety of features that have never been available on a Toyota model before, including Apple CarPlay, a Scout GPS navigation app, a wireless smartphone charger, a 2G Wi-Fi connection and much more. The new Avalon also receives a premium 1,200-watt, 7.1-channel JBL system with 14 speakers, adaptive LED cornering lamps and sequential rear turn signals and a 9-inch touchscreen.
2019 Toyota Avalon release date
Overall, the new Avalon is longer, wider and lower than before with more interior space. There is also an active variable suspension with adaptive damping and an independent wheel control with shock-mounted solenoid control valves for 2019. In addition, the Avalon receives active noise control, engine sound enhancement and an intake sound generator.
Under the hood remains the 3.5-liter V6 from the outgoing model and is expected to produce 301-hp, but formal figures haven’t been released yet. With that said, we expect the V6 to be standard with an eight-speed automatic transmission while the Avalon Hybrid could receive a CVT.
