How to Change a Flat Tire near De Pere, WI

Tools You Need
You need to prepare to change your flat tire by having the right tools stowed inside your car. At the bare minimum, drivers must have a car jack to lift their Toyota vehicle. They also need the means to take off the lug nuts with a lug wrench. Finally, you’ll require a spare tire that fits the vehicle and has adequate air pressure to stabilize the car. Aside from the basics, it is helpful to have a tire inflator to refill the spare component. Your vehicle’s Owner’s Manual, wheel chocks, and a high-visibility vest are some other tools that you should consider putting in your trunk or other storage compartment.
First Steps
The very first thing you must do when air is leaving your tire is find a safe area to come to a stop and remove the flat. If you can pull into Patriot Park or another well-lit, low-traffic area. With no safe place available or a spare that is not in condition to serve, you may want to call and have your Toyota brought to our dealership location to make the change for you. To begin, remove the aforementioned toolkit from its storage place. Then, take off the hubcap on your vehicle and use your lug wrench to loosen the lug nuts about half a turn. Place your tire jack under a suitable location on the car and lift the body up. With several inches of clearance below the damaged tire, use the lug wrench to remove the lug nuts completely. Slide the damaged component off the lug bolts.
Finishing Up
Now that the damaged tire is off the vehicle, you need to essentially reverse the process. Start by taking your spare and mounting it on the lug bolts. Next, hand-tighten the lug nuts for several turns. Lower the Toyota model slightly until just the very bottom of the spare is touching the ground. At that point, use the lug wrench to fully secure the lug nuts on their respective bolts using a star-shaped pattern by skipping over every other nut. That ensures the tire goes on straight and stays secure. Finish off by using the jack to bring the car the rest of the way to the ground and try to tighten the nuts once more. Put all of your materials back in your car and pull back onto I-41 to complete your travels. Make certain to visit our Service Center to have us repair your tire or tell you if you need a new one.
